West Central Illinois Philanthropy Center Now Open in Quincy!

Nonprofits in the Quincy, Illinois area now have easier access to tools to help them reach their full potential. Donors Forum has partnered with John Wood Community College and the Center for Effective Nonprofits (both located in Quincy) to form the West Central Illinois Philanthropy Center.

The West Central Illinois Philanthropy Center celebrated a Grand Opening on Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Speakers included Dr. William Simpson, President of John Wood Community College; Laurie Assell, Director of the Center for Effective Nonprofits; and Claudette Baker, Vice President of Library and Nonprofit Services at Donors Forum. An orientation for librarians as well as a public library orientation followed.

The West Central Illinois Philanthropy Center is open during convenient weekend and evening hours and offers free access to:

  • Proposal writing guides, management tools and other essential resources
  • Online prospect research tools, such as Illinois Funding Source
  • Foundation Center directories of grantmakers
  • Helpful librarians
  • Free orientations

Additionally, the West Central Illinois Philanthropy Center is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center.

Donors Forum, in partnership with libraries, also operates four Philanthropy Centers in the suburban Chicago communities of Glen Ellyn, Grayslake, Chicago Heights and Schaumburg.
