Funding Source
Members have free access to
Illinois Funding Source. IFS combines:
- FunderSource: Searchable
database of over 3,000 Illinois funders
- GrantSource: Online database
of grants made by a cross-section of the region's
foundations and corporate giving programs
- Donors Forum Online:
Online membership directory with contact information
for all Member foundations and staff
With passwords distributed to Member
staff, individual contact records can be updated online
using the "My Account" option. For password
assistance, please email ifs-support@donorsforum.org.

Download

most from IFS. (You must have PowerPoint on your

Profiles
We recommend that Members review their profiles in FunderSource
periodically to ensure that we have the most up-to-date
information on your organization. Current profiles reflect
updates made during our Fall 2006 Member Profile Verification
Process or any updates that have been communicated since
then. Please contact mcail@donorsforum.org
to make any revisions to your profile.
Participate
in GrantSource
Help us to make this resource a reliable and accurate
repository of information about Illinois philanthropy!
Eighty-five Members, representing 40% of private philanthropy
in the state, currently participate. GrantSource allows
us to produce trend reports on giving, while providing
our Members with an easily accessible medium to share
grantmaking data with colleagues. Contact mcail@donorsforum.org
if you are not yet a participant.

but can subscribe at a discounted rate. See subscription

A free set of Donors Forum publications
is sent to all new Members. New publications are sent
directly to Member representatives as soon as they are

The Donors Forum updated its membership directory database
in the fall of 2006. Each Member representative will
receive one copy of the print membership directory.

Issue
Groups and Committees
Member Issue Groups and Constituent Committees give
you the opportunity to learn and network with colleagues.
They host programs on issues that Members identify as
important in the region and to their work.

to all Donors Forum Members and Associate Members. Each
group has a separate web page with upcoming events and
useful resources.

Newsletters
Forumnotes
Forumnotes is the monthly Donors Forum e-newsletter
with articles about trends in the nonprofit sector,
staff and board changes at grantmakers and nonprofits
and recent grants made by regional foundations. Forumnotes
is sent to all staff at Member organizations on the
first business day of every month.
To subscribe to Forumnotes, send an

with "subscribe Fn" in the subject line and
include your name, title, email and organization.

Directory
Fill your rolodex! Develop a network of contacts in
the grantmaking and nonprofit community through the

membership directory.
Passwords for the directory are sent
when your organization renews. If you'd like your passwords
sent any other time, just email your name, your organization's
name, and your email address to: password@donorsforum.org.
Peer
Networks and Committees

peers through participation in constituent committees.
Groups exist for new grantmakers, grantmakers in the
northern suburbs, and grantmakers within corporate and
family organizations.

and Officers' Liability Insurance
The Donors Forum, through an arrangement with the Council
on Foundations, is pleased to offer its foundation Members
access to a discounted Directors & Officers Liability
Insurance Coverage program. This program is now available
to all Donors Forum grantmaking Members (even if you
are not a member of the Council on Foundations). Many

Insurance
JLBG Health Affinity (formerly known as Fortis Insurance) is offering special health insurance
packages for Donors Forum Members. This offer was created
through the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers.
These are individual policies - each Member organization
is insured as its own group and not as part of a larger
risk pool. Please note: we offer this only as an
option for Members, not as an endorsement, since we
have no direct experience with JLBG Health and these health
