2008 Summer Retreat Summary
The group planned three sessions for the coming year: "Literacy," "Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education in the Year of Science," and "Birth through Twenty: Advocacy for All Stages." Robert Reid was welcomed as a new co-chair for the group, with Kris Reichmann continuing as co-chair.

This recently updated edition from Harvard Family Research Project describes instruments and tools that you can obtain and use for on-the-ground program evaluation.

New Research Shows Academic Promise After School (2/08)
The James Irvine Foundation has released new research linking measured student achievement with quality after-school programming. Findings are based on a two-year evaluation of CORAL, an eight-year initiative intended to boost the education performance of low-achieving students in five California cities. A series of publications document the results.

Principles for Effective Education Grantmaking (pdf, 6/05)
