The Language
of Environmental Grantmaking: Making an Impact and Finding
Common Ground |
REGISTER
Friday, October 24 | Prince Charitable Trusts,
303 W. Madison St., Suite 1900, Chicago | Noon - 2 pm
The language used in environmental grantmaking is
important both to ensure that grantmakers and grantees
understand one another, and to present environmental
messages in ways that have an impact on the general
population. Join Donors Forum's Environmental Grantmaking
Group to hear Rich Neimand, President and Creative
Director of the Neimand Collaborative, discuss
some of the issues tied to the language used in environmental
grantmaking. Rich has done messaging and communications
work for the Nature Conservancy, Wilderness Society,
and Pew Charitable Trusts (Heritage Forest Campaign)
regarding values-based frameworks, and aligning stakeholder
values with the grantmaking process. He has also done
branding campaigns and worked with TNC's government
affairs office to develop trainings to expedite passage
of bond referrenda.
