2008 Retreat Summary
The group planned four sessions for the coming year: "Mapping Healthcare in the Chicago Region," a Peer Exchange, "Mental Health," and "New Models for Primary Care." Mark Ishaug and Anna Laubach completed their service as co-chairs, and Diana Derige and Jennifer Tani were welcomed as new co-chairs.

The Business of Giving: Governance and Asset Management in Foundations Formed from Health Care Conversions (pdf, 2/05)
This Grantmakers In Health report examines issues such as board compensation, audits and discretionary grants at 174 conversion foundations. According to the study, most conversion foundations have policies in place to address major accountability issues.

Essential Public Health Services
Developed by the Centers for Disease Control, the Essential Services provide a working definition of public health and a guiding framework for the responsibilities of local public health systems.
