BACKGROUND:
More than 77 percent of individuals in Illinois give
to charity - well above the national average of 67 percent
- and more than 70 percent of those donations remain
in Illinois. These are just two of the key findings
of Individual Giving in Illinois: Implications for the
Nonprofit Community, a report set to be released by
the Donors Forum of Chicago (Donors Forum) on Wednesday,
April 11. The first report to examine individual giving
in Illinois, this study will help nonprofits understand:
- What motivates individuals to give,
and, what might motivate them to give more?
- What type of donor will be
interested in their cause?
"We are thrilled to be on the
cutting-edge of research that will help nonprofits better
understand donors, so they can build stronger, more
sustainable relationships and maximize their overall
fundraising efforts," says Donors Forum of Chicago
president and CEO Valerie S. Lies.
