Workshop Series Brings Together Funders and Nonprofits

March 5, 2008 - Donors Forum, a statewide organization that promotes philanthropy and an effective nonprofit sector, will present a series of its Dialogue with Donors workshops in collaboration with Chicago’s Roosevelt University. At the four spring and summer workshops, panels of representatives from local corporations and foundations will discuss their giving priorities and what they require from nonprofits applying for grants and sponsorships. After each session, nonprofit leaders will be able to ask questions and share feedback.

“‘Dialogue with Donors’” offers nonprofit staff and board members a unique opportunity to learn firsthand—directly from the funders—about their priorities and perspectives,” said Claudette Baker, Vice President of Library and Nonprofit Services at Donors Forum. “And, we’re particularly pleased to be in partnership with Roosevelt on this series, as it gives us the opportunity to offer these workshops to a whole new constituency.”

“Roosevelt University is pleased to host these important discussions on ways nonprofit organizations and funders can work together to improve life in our communities," said Chuck Middleton, President of Roosevelt. "The University's relationship with the Donors Forum is another example of how Roosevelt is implementing its mission of social justice."

All four workshops will be held at Roosevelt University, Congress Lounge, Second Floor, 430 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago.
