Citibank teams up with
Donors Forum of Chicago and Alliance for Nonprofit Management
to offer support for nonprofit executives in this full-day
event focused on leadership challenges and opportunities.
Citibank is partnering with Donors
Forum of Chicago and Alliance for Nonprofit Management
to host Nonprofit Day on December 1 at the Citibank
Center. Nonprofit Day was created to support the professional
development of nonprofit executives by offering a full-day
of workshops, networking and panel discussions with
leaders in the field. The focus of Nonprofit Day is:
Leadership Challenges and Opportunities for Nonprofit
Executives.
"Good leadership is a critical
component of a healthy nonprofit sector in Chicago,
says Claudette Baker, Vice President of Library and
Nonprofit Services at Donors Form of Chicago. By
bringing nonprofit leaders together to discuss important
topics, such as succession planning, fundraising strategies
and more, we want to give executives the tools to maximize
their organizations work.
From 8:30 - 4 p.m., participants will
have the opportunity to talk with colleagues about the
many challenges facing nonprofit leaders. Nonprofit
Day sessions will offer valuable strategies and practical
tools and resources to turn these challenges into opportunities.
Succession Planning a hot topic for nonprofits
after a 2006 study revealed that 75 percent of nonprofit
executives plan to leave their jobs within five years
will be the focus of a morning panel discussion.
An afternoon session on Fundraising for Leaders will
concentrate on the big issues, trends and environmental
challenges of fundraising today.
Keynote speakers, respected leaders
in the nonprofit sector, include: Alice Cottingham,
Girls Best Friend Foundation; Alene Valkanas,
Illinois Arts Alliance; Toni Smith and Marcia
Lipetz, Executive Service Corps; Tangie Newborn,
Alliance for Nonprofit Management; and Marilyn Benuska,
Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt.
At Citibank Illinois, we recognize
that by hosting Nonprofit Day and supporting nonprofit
leaders in their professional development, we are able
to demonstrate our commitment to help make life better
in the communities where our customers live and work,
said Helen Hammond Redding, Community Relations Director
for Citibank Illinois.
Citibank Nonprofit Day will
be held December 1, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Citibank
Center, 500 W. Madison Ave., 3rd floor. Lunch will
