the process of identifying who might provide that funding.

prioritize the time you spend researching potential funders, which
is outlined in more detail in the next section, Researching Potential
Funders.
While the Donors Forum's primary focus is private foundations, we
also provide guidance on raising funds from other sources.
All donors will want to know that you have
a plan that includes a diverse mix of funding types and earned income.
Foundations should be just one part of your overall fundraising
plan...and your fundraising plan should include approaching more
than one potential funder.
