Job Hunting? Donors Forum Wants to Help

To help job seekers in this challenging economy, Donors Forum has compiled this list of helpful websites. The list includes the sites of executive recruiting firms, sites that list job openings, sites that offer job-search and career advice, and sites offering information on volunteering.

Remember that:

  • You can take workshops at Donors Forum to enhance your skill set. (Click on the Calendar of All Events link at the right.)

  • The free Donors Forum Library is a warm, welcoming place that offers the second largest collection of philanthropy and nonprofit-related books in the country. You may want to use it to brush up on a particular subject before an interview or use our online databases to research the grants made by a particular foundation or the grants received by a particular nonprofit. (Click on the Donors Forum Library and Philanthropy Center links at the right.)

  • Forumnotes, Donors Forum's monthly enewsletter for Members and Partners, contains job listings submitted by our Members and Partners. The listings are toward the end of the newsletter, which is usually emailed on the first business day of the month. Current and back issues of Forumnotes are available to Members and Partners; please log in (upper left) to view. Back issues of the Partner edition of Forumnotes are available to the public one month after publication. Access the newsletters by clicking on the Newsletters icon to the right.
  • The Library also has binders with descriptions of job openings at our Member and Partner organizations which are available for review during regular Library hours, usually noon to 5 pm Monday through Friday (please check ahead for special closings; click on the Donors Forum Library link to the right.)

  • Many grantmakers and nonprofits post job openings on their websites. (Click on the Rosters of Members, Associate Members, and Forum Partners link to the right for links to their websites, on which they may post job openings.)

  • Volunteering provides a way to help others while networking, enhancing skills, and having fun. See below for organizations offering volunteer opportunities.
